Exploring the Socioeconomic Landscape of Dependent Communities in Hakaluki Haor

Exploring the Socioeconomic Landscape of Dependent Communities in Hakaluki Haor

The largest freshwater natural wetlands in Bangladesh, Hakaluki haor, is home to a variety of plant and animal species that have long supported reliant communities. The research aimed to identify the socioeconomic standing and biodiversity of the community by employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A six-month field research in three villages in Hakaluki haor, Bangladesh, assessed the status of the resource users and resources used by the haor-dependent community. The study reveals that 27% of respondents engage in full-time fishing, while 37.2% are agriculturedependent. Most have primary-level education, leading to financial crises and poor housing conditions. The vast fisheries resources are their main livelihood, but economic crises and overexposure threaten wetland. The haor, a natural wetland, has experienced significant environmental degradation due to agricultural drainage, Jalmohal leasing systems, fishing pressure, overexploitation, siltation, soil erosion, habitat destruction, hunting, and increasing population. Human encroachment and inefficient enforcement have also led to a decline in floral and faunal diversity, increasing inhabitants’ vulnerability. Effective management plans are crucial for sustainable livelihoods.

The Role of Business Finance in Sustainable Development: Insights from Spinning Mills

The Role of Business Finance in Sustainable Development: Insights from Spinning Mills

Corporate finance and agricultural economics are critical to spinning mills for sustainable development and financial sustainability. This study aims to investigate the crucial role that corporate finance plays in fostering sustainable growth in the context of spinning mills. Spinning mill profitability is influenced by the cost, availability, and sustainability of agricultural goods such as cotton, wool, and synthetic fibers. The study comes to the conclusion that although the textile industry and spinning mills in particular is vital to the expansion of the global economy, there are often significant social and environmental consequences associated with its operations. Spinning mill financial performance is influenced by the agriculture economics that drive the raw material market dynamics. Effective corporate finance strategies consider these elements in order to avoid risks and maximize opportunities for sustainable development. Business financing initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development ought to consider social concerns such as community involvement, worker rights, and rural development. Using a comprehensive approach, the proposed study would look into the connection between agricultural finance and sustainable growth in spinning mills. Furthermore, the study sheds new insight on how a thorough understanding of agricultural economics may help spinning mills assess the social impact of their operations and allocate resources more wisely.

IOT-Based Smart Agriculture in Bangladesh

IOT-Based Smart Agriculture in Bangladesh: An Overview

The agricultural sector plays a critical role in Bangladesh’s rapid economic growth, as 50% of the population directly depends on the industry for their livelihood. This article provides an overview of the global state of IoT-based smart agriculture today, with a focus on how control activities and powering the entire cultivation and irrigation process are carried out. We also looked at the various tools and technology employed in IoT-based smart agriculture and their potential to advance Bangladesh’s agricultural industry. More than 70% of the country’s land is used for agricultural production. Bangladesh is regarded as a nation particularly vulnerable to climate change, with its agricultural sector frequently being devastated by natural calamities. IoT-based smart agriculture has the potential to drastically alter Bangladesh’s agricultural industry by lowering risks, increasing productivity, and boosting resistance to climate change. The bulk of people working in the agricultural industry should raise their level of life by embracing the era of Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart agriculture. To do this, the electricity needed for the monitoring and management of IoT-based smart agriculture will need to be supplied by renewable energy sources. Given that agriculture plays a significant part in Bangladesh’s economy and that this technology is being embraced globally in this sector, it is imperative that Bangladesh address its issues and make the necessary preparations to ensure that it is going forward in a sustainable manner.

Significance of Serum Biomarkers in Early Diagnosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Significance of Serum Biomarkers in Early Diagnosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Patient with Fisher Groups

Introduction: This study investigates the relationship between serum biomarkers and the detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in different fisher groups in Bangladesh. The research adopts a descriptive and experimental approach to demonstrate the health risks faced by fishermen, including tobacco consumption, polluted drinking water, and insufficient sunlight exposure. Method: We used serum biomarkers such as vitamin D, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), creatinine (Cr), and hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) to evaluate their significance in distinguishing between different categories and sexes. Result: We determined a strong and direct correlation between insufficient vitamin D levels and an increased risk of liver cancer. The combination of AFP, vitamin D, and Cr (AFP+Vit-D+Cr) emerges as a highly predictive tool, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and providing a reliable means of identifying hepatocellular carcinoma. Conclusion: The identified correlation showed the significance of addressing lifestyle factors and promoting nutritional support to mitigate the risk of liver cancer
