Integrated Culture of Fish and Vegetables

Integrated culture has been practicing from generation to generation in Bangladesh. Uncontrolled population growth, shrinkage of cultivable land and climate induced phenomena generates new challenges to the agriculture sector. So, people are realizing the integrating culture system to produce multiple items using a single piece of land at a time. Integrated culture of fish and vegetable has brought a new scope in this purpose. It is possible to get both nutrition and money through integrated culture of fish and vegetables. Again, integrated culture is a best solution where plan cannot grow well in the rainy season due to waterlogging and lack of irrigation in the dry season. Moreover, integrated culture system is an alternative choice for the farmers who are facing problem with escape of fish from the pond during inundation due to heavy rain or tidal surge etc.
